The Chief Corporate Communications Officer (CCCO), of Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited, Femi Soneye, has stepped aside from his appointment.

The reason for his action is not immediately known, but sources told ENERGY TIMES that Soneye has not found things easy since the removal of the immediate past chief executive officer of the company, Engr. Mele Kyari by the President, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

Also, it was gathered that the department’s budget has been divided following the appointments of new personnel who were brought to the department to understudy him.

The sources said the management allegedly harassed Soneye with the aim that he would accept that he leaked the story to the newspaper in order to embarrass them.
Before the Rwanda retreat saga, they said there was another issue that had to do with some spendings.

When attempting to rope him – in on that one was not successful, they brought up the issue of Rwanda.

The sources said that when Femi Soneye realized that the management was up to something, he told them in clear terms that he was resigning his appointment.

Soneye, in a telephone conversations with ENERGY TIMES, confirmed his stepping aside, saying that he’s still within the oil industry.

He however, failed to confirm what transpired between him and the management.
