Man Utd v Brentford postponed due to COVID

Cristiano Ronaldo could not hide his anger at Manchester United team-mate Marcus Rashford during Monday night’s defeat to Newcastle. The Red Devils fell to a 1-0 defeat at St James’ Park in a truly woeful performance.

Superstar forward Ronaldo was visibly frustrated during the first-half of United’s disappointing loss at Newcastle.

The Portugal international was given very little service as the relegation battling Toon enjoyed the majority of the play.

And Allan Saint-Maximin made them pay with a fine opening goal, getting the better of Harry Maguire and Raphael Varane to find the back of the net from the edge of the box.

United were struggling to get out of their own box at one stage, leaving Ronaldo as nothing but a bystander.

Rashford did finally find some space to play a pass to Ronaldo, but overhit the ball sending it out of play.

And Ronaldo threw his arms up and furiously barked at his team-mate as he watched Newcastle easily regain possession with a throw-in.

The 36-year-old looked visibly frustrated at multiple points during the match, but the Rashford pass was clearly the tip of the iceberg.

Ronaldo wasn’t the only one who was fed up at United’s first half performance, with club legend Gary Neville describing them as “winge-bags”.

He said on Sky Sports: “You don’t want to go overboard in the sense that they’ve been off for 16 days, they’ve obviously got a new manager in and they’re trying to get used to a new system.

“The balance of the team isn’t right. I was worried after Norwich. There’s no pressing. There’s no urgency.
