Again, fallen trailer from Ojuelegba bridge crushes motorist to death

Barely seven months, another fallen trailer from Ojuelegba Bridge has crushed yet unidentified man to death.


A middle-aged man, yet to be identified, was crushed to death by the truck that fell off Ojuelegba Bridge in Lagos on Saturday night.

The man was driving a Honda Accord when the truck fell on his car.

Rescuers at the scene of the accident managed to bring him out of the wreckage, dead.

According to witnesses, it took some time to get the man out. But he was dead, when he was retrieved.

Accidents caused by falling trailers or unlatched containers are common in Ojuelegba.

It would be recalled that another one happened in September 19, 2022.

Thanks be to God because the four inside the car which the truck bearing 40ft container fell on miraculously escaped death.

During that incident Lagos Sector Command of the FRSC who confirmed the incident, said the crash occurred around 6:38pm at Ojuelegba inward Stadium on Funsho Williams Avenue.

The recovery was carried out by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency forklift with the support of response teams of the FRSC, Nigeria Army, Nigeria Police and LASTMA.
