AAU Alumni Association Warri Chapter meet, vows to defend member’s mandate

The prestigious Ambrose Alli University ( AAU), Ekpoma, Alumni Association, Warri Chapter on Sunday held it’s monthly meeting at Udu Road, Warri, where the members in unison vowed to defend the mandate which the Delta State voters freely gave to it’s member, the person of RT (Honorable) Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, as the governor elects of Delta State.

This fact is contained in a media statement issued by the AAU’s Publicity Secretary, Pastor Obaro Joseph Ikupa, and made available to the All City News recently in Lagos.

Ikupa disclosed that a motion was moved on the floor of the house by Chief Vincent Oyibode, the house deliberated extensively and resolved that all members should troop out enmasse to grace the inauguration ceremony on Monday, May 29th, 2023 at Asaba.

The statement said the group also resolved that all the legal luminaries in the Warri branch of the association should act as a research and backup team to the governor elect’s legal team.
The house resolved to set up a think tank committee to identify special areas of needs across the state and bring same to the attention of the governor immediately after his swearing in to make the task of government easier and bring the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

The statement stated that speaking at the occasion, the Chapter’s Acting Chairman Chief (Mrs) Pela Taiga enjoined all members to attend any court sitting in solidarity with the governor elect when the times comes.

The statement listed some of the dignitaries and key members present at the occasion include the Worldwide Legal Adviser of the body Barrister Presley Okojue, the Worldwide Publicity Secretary Pastor Obaro Joseph Ikupa, a Pioneer Ex – Official member of the association Barrister G. O. K. Ebowei, Principal Partner Victory Chambers, the Pioneer Legal Adviser of the association Barrister Sanchez Agumor of Ama Etuwewe (SAN)’s Chambers and Barrister Emmanuel Ekpuda, Principal Partner Ekpuda and Ekpuda Chambers as well as the immediate Past Assistant Organising Secretary, Ebo Blessing who is the Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer ( MD / CEO) of Stationz Place, Warri.

. . . In a related development, the Management of AAU has appreciated the efforts of the SIT in trying to repositioning the university.
Speaking about the development, Prof Asomwan Sonnie Adagbonyin commended the body for the management partnership with the SIT.
“We and the SIT have always worked in synergy, and it is good to know that the issues itemised in the report are outcomes of shared knowledge and cooperation.

” Many of the problems have been addressed. Others which still rear their ugly heads, like the issue of transcripts and certificates are being confronted frontally.

” Incidentally, the past hasn’t been too good for AAU, but with the SIT and the present management, there is a renewed hope in the future,” the don stressed .
