Topic for 26 October: Staff not slaves

By Pastor E.A Adeboye

MEMORIZE: And, ye masters, do the same things unto them, forbearing threatening: knowing that your Master also is in heaven; neither is there respect of persons with him. Ephesians 6:9

OPEN HEAVEN 26 OCTOBER 2020 BIBLE READING 2 KINGS 5:1-3

1. Now Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria: he was also a mighty man in valor, but he was a leper

2. And the Syrians had gone out by companies, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

3. And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.

GOOD MORNING BELOVED,

PLEASE, PRAY FOR NIGERIA.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 OCTOBER 2020 MESSAGE

Many people treat those who work for them Personal Assistant, housekeeper, gateman, gardener and others as though they were
a lower breed of humans.

That fellow who works for you is a human being, just like you.

With God, there are no differences; you are only privileged to be the employer or supervisor while he/she serves you.

When such people give their lives to Christ, there is rejoicing in Heaven just as there is when the president of a nation becomes born again.

Would you want your employer to treat you the same way you treat your domestic staff or some subordinates?.

You would like some respect in the office, why not give some to those who work for you?.

After all, they are in their respective offices too, no matter how low their cadre may be.

Don’t insult or slap them, don’t make them eat your leftovers or sleep in the kitchen. Jesus said:

“And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. Luke 6:31 ”

Most domestic staff and even some other junior employees who work with you have more access to information about you than many of the people you think highly of, hence can hurt or help you.

Your house keeper has access to your food at any time and can put whatever he/she wants in it without your knowledge.

Your gateman can also decide who goes in and out of your house, so if he wants, he can let unwanted visitors in at night.

Your driver practically has your life in his hands every time he takes you out.

The worst you can do is to make them feel worthless and probably withhold their salary an action God completely frowns against.

“At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the Lord, and it be sin unto thee. Deuteronomy 24:15”

The worst they can do to you has more far reaching consequences.

This is why you must teach them the word of God and also be interested in their advancement in life.

Look at them the way God does and He will bless you for it.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 OCTOBER 2020 KEY POINT

Your domestic staff and all those who work with you are fellow human beings and God cares for them. You should too.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 OCTOBER 2020 HYMN

DEEPER, DEEPER IN THE LOVE OF JESUS

1. Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus
Daily let me go;
Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,
More of grace to know.

CHORUS
O deeper yet I pray,
And higher every day,
And wiser, blessed, Lord,
In Thy precious, holy Word.

2. Deeper, deeper! blessed Holy Spirit,
Take me deeper still,
Till my life is wholly lost in Jesus,
And His perfect will.

3. Deeper, deeper! tho it cost hard trials,
Deeper let me go!
Rooted in the holy love of Jesus,
Let me fruitful grow.

4. Deeper, higher, evry day in Jesus,
Till all conflict past,
Finds me conqueror, and in His own image
Perfected at last.

OPEN HEAVEN 26 OCTOBER 2020 BIBLE READING IN ONE YEAR: LUKE 14:1-35, LUKE 15:1-32.

Special note:

Beloved Reader, if you are yet to give your life to Jesus, it would be nice if you do so at this very moment before you continue in the reading. And remember that unless you are born again, God’s ever abiding presence will never be with you. You must be born again to enjoy continuous victory. Moreover, remember that the Lord Jesus in John 3:3 says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Please say the displayed prayer below in faith:

Lord Jesus, come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Personal Saviour. I believe in my heart You died and rose from the dead to save me. Thank You Lord for saving me, in Jesus name Amen.
