NO FIRE OUTBREAK IN FIIRO-Director General

The Director General of Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO), Dr. Jummai A. Tutuwa has denied the current news in circulation alleging that FIIRO has been gutted by fire.

The Deputy Director Information & Public Relations, Chris Olumuyiwa who made this known on behalf of Tutuwa, said:- The attention of the Director General and management of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi has been drawn to various newspaper publications and online Porto stating that the Lagos office of Nigeria’s foremost research institute, FIIRO has been gutted by fire.

These statements are unfounded, false, malicious and aimed at misleading the general public. More importantly this fake news is a ploy to sabotage the giant developmental strides of Director General and President Bola Ahmed administration. Knowing the contributions of FIIRO towards the implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the federal government.

According to Olumuyiwa, as at the time of refuting these publications, the premises of FIIRO and/or it’s adjourning premises are safe and void of any inferno or incidents that calls for panic. The Lagos Response Unit (LRU) is virtually on the same axis with FIIRO and their attention was not drawn to any occurrence of Fire incidence.

Prior to this time the institute has a robust safety unit managed by seasoned professionals who have put up necessary precautions against any fire occurrence.

The Director General expresses her displeasure at the unprofessional and unethical attitude of some media houses that failed to confirm the veracity of the information before making their publications.

The federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi is committed to realising the purpose for its establishment and to ensure cutting edge research that will promote the well being of Nigerians and by extension the renewed hope Agenda of the federal government.

And FIIRO is a parastatal under the agency of the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
