Nestlé Empowering Women To Combat Malnutrition in Nigeria

By allcitynews.ng

When the management team of Nestlé  Nigeria came out with the goal to make its products, tools to address not only food scarcity but also to empower women, it was probably acting on the popular belief that medicine is not healthcare, but food is the real healthcare.

Apparently concern that purposeful governance and robust development can only be achieved after consumption of nutritious food, Nestlé is also reminding everyone of the saying of one of the philosophical sayings of James Cash Penney, Founder of JCPenney, that “Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” Growth can only yield positive step by empowerment of women with nutritional food.

As its concerted effort to make every home user of Nestlé products, it recently came out with relaunch of Maggi Chicken Flavour Cubes with New Improved Taste and Double Cubes.

Speaking during the relaunching, the Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Nigeria, Wassim Elhusseini, said, “We are excited to announce the relaunch of MAGGI Chicken Flavour Seasoning Cubes to bring an enhanced culinary experience to Nigerian consumers.

“With the double cube format, we are on a journey to reduce packaging used in our production process by 25%. This approach is part of Nestlé’s ongoing efforts to protect our planet. We remain committed to growing our business in Nigeria sustainably.”

Also the MAGGI Category Manager at Nestlé Nigeria, Rahamatou Palm Zakari-Adamou, pointed out that “We are dedicated to providing seasoning cubes that enhance mealtimes for millions of Nigerian families. MAGGI has been a part of Nigerian cuisine for decades and is committed to always deliver delicious taste and aroma as well as remain a trusted ally to the Cooks.

Is anyone still in doubt of what this writer is saying?, just visit any local or supermarkets, you will see that MAGGI seasoning cubes and indeed Nestlé products are sold all over Nigeria.

For instant, millions of Nigerian households consume these fortified products daily, helping to combat micronutrient deficiencies across various demographics. By providing affordable fortified foods, Nestlé improves nutrition while supporting national health strategies to reduce malnutrition.

And to display that it has spread its tentacles across the country, Nestlé Nigeria  launched a project to Empower Rural Women in Nigeria to scale up their retail businesses through training, mentorship, and grants in form of Nestlé products. With the launch of this new project, Nestlé’s aim is to make significant contributions to the wellbeing of Nigerians.

In the first phase of the project titled “Nestlé Empowering Rural Women in Nigeria”, the company will provide three times the monthly turnover of each of the 50 selected female retailers in form of Nestlé products.

Speaking at the launch of the project in Abuja, Nestlé Nigeria’s Commercial Manager, Mr. Khaled Ramadan said: “Nestlé Empowering Rural Women in Nigeria” is aimed at making significant contributions to the well-being of the 50 retailers selected in this first phase, who already have a business relationship with Nestlé.
