Topic for Wednesday 10: 3: 21: Associate with the right people

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Num. 35-36

 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: When we have nothing left but God, we will see that God is more than enough.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY: The power to meet the right people in the right location shall come into your life, in the name of Jesus.

Right from the time God called Abraham out of his country, He wanted him and his generation yet unborn to be special people unto Him and be separated from the world so that they will not be corrupted. The same warning was repeated even when the Israelites got to the Promised Land.

God told them not to mingle with the Canaanites. Any close and personal association with people who do not follow God’s commands (especially connections that involve feelings and emotions of commitment that has to do with long-term relationships) will eventually destroy the uniqueness and holiness of God’s people.

Such matters as inter-marriage of God’s people with unbelievers or close friendship with unbelievers may turn believers away from following God. God told the Israelites not to have pity on the people of the land and not to give their daughters to them in marriage, and neither should they marry their daughters for their sons.

Association with the right people will foster our relationship with God and make it stronger, but any contrary association will be to our detriment. Solomon’s heart was changed by the strange women he married. He began to serve their gods and idols and it made God to be angry with him. It was due to that reason that God rent the kingdom from him (1 King 11:6-11).

The Bible, warning us against evil association, says, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners” (1 Cor. 15:13).Whoever you associate yourself with will influence you either positively or negatively. Our Memory Verse for today enjoins us to “come out from among them, and be separate.”

Beloved, God loves you and wants you to focus on Him only, not on anything that will influence you negatively to forsake Him and turn your heart away from Him. Forsake your worldly friends. David and Jonathan, Paul and Silas, Naomi and Ruth all had fruitful relationships. Anyone who hinders or reduces your walk and closeness to God deserves to be avoided. May God help you, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING
1. Every unfriendly friend in the garden of my life, die, in the name of Jesus.

2. My Father, help me to be close to You all my days, in the name of Jesus.

3. Power shielding me away from the presence of God, scatter, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Every secret evil counsel against me, be disgraced, in the name of Jesus.

5. My Father, lead me by Your Spirit, in the name of Jesus.

6. Jesus, wherever You go, I will follow You, in the name of Jesus.

7. Anything in my life magnetising evil to me, lose your hold and die, in the name of Jesus.

Beloved Reader, the sweetest way to enjoy all-round blessings from God in this Year 2021 is to make Jesus Christ your personal Lord & Saviour.  Remember! the Lord Jesus in John 3:3 says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless ye are born again, ye cannot see the kingdom of God.”
