PRAISE & WORSHIP:

1 My hope is built on nothing less
than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand:
all other ground is sinking sand;

2 When darkness veils his lovely face,
I rest on his unchanging grace;
in every high and stormy gale,

2 Chronicles 26:14-21

14 Uzziah gave the army shields, spears, helmets, armor, bows, and stones for the slings.

15 In Jerusalem, Uzziah made machines that were invented by clever men. These machines were put on the towers and corner walls. They shot arrows and large rocks. Uzziah became famous. People knew his name in far away places. He had much help and became a powerful king.

16 But when Uzziah became strong, his pride caused him to be destroyed. He was not faithful to the Lord his God. He went into the Lord’s Temple to burn incense on the altar for burning incense.

17 Azariah the priest and 80 brave priests who served the Lord followed Uzziah into the Temple.

18 They told Uzziah he was wrong. They said to him, “Uzziah, it is not your job to burn incense to the Lord. It is not right. That is for the priests, Aaron’s descendants, to do. They are the only ones who have been prepared for the holy work of burning incense. You have not been faithful, so you must go out of the Most Holy Place. The Lord God will not honor you for this.”

19 But Uzziah was angry. He had a bowl in his hand for burning incense. While Uzziah was very angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead. This happened in front of the priests in the Lord’s Temple by the altar for burning incense.

20 Azariah the leading priest and all the priests looked at Uzziah. They could see the leprosy on his forehead. The priests quickly forced him out from the Temple. Uzziah himself hurried out because the Lord had punished him.

21 So Uzziah the king was a leper. He could not enter the Lord’s Temple. His son Jotham controlled the king’s palace and became governor for the people.

30 MARCH MESSAGE:
We shall continue with the topic we started yesterday. In our Fire Scripture, we saw a man who was a great king in Israel being prone to the spirit of error. This was a king that started very well; he was very intelligent and creative. He was the first in Israel to construct machines for wars, and he also introduced what today we can call mechanized farming with very good irrigation system.

When the spirit of error got hold of him, his heart was lifted up to his destruction and he made the greatest mistakes of his life. I pray for you today that the arrow of the mistakes of your ancestors shall not locate you, in the name of Jesus.

Dearly beloved, error is both of the mind and of the spirit. This spirit leads men to make wrong judgements and decisions, which eventually leads to failure and calamity in life. Many have taken such erroneous decisions. The spirit of error decided to ruin them and they lost homes, jobs, businesses, etc.

Uzziah became leprous instantly and lost his kingship, thereby losing all that he had gained. He died a leper and his son took over his throne. I pray that the error that will make you lose everything you have gathered will be far away from you, in the name of Jesus.

Dear reader of this devotional, when the spirit of error is in operation in a man’s life, it makes the man to always commit blunder or mistakes that will make him regret later in life, Uzziah would have gone down in history as the best all-round king in Israel, but he allowed himself to be wasted because he did not guard against pride. Ask God for mercy and He will restore you.

Humility is the best antidote to the spirit of error. When you discover that you are always prone to haughtiness, take it easy because error is gradually coming in. Seek God’s face instantly. Confess and repent of these sins.

The same happened to Saul and he forgot the divine favour that brought him to the throne as the first king in Israel, pride is a destroyer. It comes with other evils like impatience, arrogance, rebellion, disobedience, and so on. Beloved, be wise!

PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
1. Spirit of pride unto destruction, my life is not your candidate, go back to your sender, in the name of Jesus.

2. Any power seeking to destroy me, you will not succeed, die, in the name of Jesus.

3. Power of disobedience to divine order, get out of my life and die, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING
4. What destroyed my ancestors will not locate me, in the name of Jesus.

5. Plantation of the wicked to disgrace me, catch fire and die, in the name of Jesus.

6. I shall not be found wanting on the day of visitation, in the name of Jesus.

7. O God my Father, please have mercy on me and deliver me from every evil agenda of the spirit of error, in the name of Jesus.
