TOPIC FOR TODAY: 23-9-21: The dangers of unbelief

Fire Scripture: Matt.13:53-58

Memory Verse: Heb. 3:12-13.

Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Motivational Quote: Nothing hinders the move of God’s power as much as unbelief; it is a sign of hardened heart and faithlessness.

Prophetic Word: The Lord shall damage your unbelief and increase your faith to move every mountain challenging your destiny, in the name of Jesus.

Unbelief is refusing to take God for His word, while doubt is unstable belief. James 1:5-8 warns against both. The truth is that a person who does not believe or doubts shall receive nothing from God. Do you desire a cure for your unbelief? You should cry out in desperation with child-like faith, “O Lord, help my unbelief” (Mark 9:23-25).

Abraham believed God and did not waiver in his faith (Rom 4: 20). He received the promise of God. He is a worthy example for you to emulate. You must activate your faith, even the mustard seed faith. God’s word and power will move on your behalf and there shall be a turnaround. Refuse to be the cause of your own problems.

Jesus is knocking, open, the door of your heart and welcome Him. Your life shall not remain the same, in Jesus’ name. Unbelief hinders grace. It locks up the heart and binds up the hands of the Saviour from doing wonders. It has the power to keep a person condemned in his sins and bondage, and eventually leads him to hell fire, if he does not repent.

Maybe you have been praying for something to happen in your life and you have prayed about it again and again and you are wondering “Why has it not come to pass?” The answer is what Jesus said to his disciples in Matt 17:20 “Because of your unbelief”. What prepares the human heart for miracles in our childlike faith in God through Christ Jesus.

When this is lacking, there will be problem. God’s children go through so much distress and needless pain because of their unbelief. Some even come for our programmes, yet they do not experience the power of God! This is nothing but unbelief! Coming to church but failing to exercise your faith can be a blockage against the move of God’s power in your life.

The disciples of Jesus in Matt 17:19-20 could not heal the sick boy because of unbelief. Jesus said so without reservation. If the disciples of Jesus could suffer this, how much more mere church goers!

4. Powers assigned to suffocate my faith in Christ, die now, in the name of Jesus.

5. Situation and circumstances around me that is shaking the foundation of my faith, die now, in the name of Jesus Christ.

6. Holy Spirit, strengthen and establish me in the Lord, in the name of Jesus.

7. O Lord, let Your word have free course in my life and strengthen my faith, in the name of Jesus.
