BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Esther 1-5

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:1-11

1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9 (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

The MESSAGE:

The book of 1 John 2, tells us that there is nothing in this world but the pride of life, the lusts of the eyes and the flesh. These are all vanities. As a believer, you must resolve in your mind that you will not live below the standard of the Kingdom.

Jesus Christ was so passionate about the kingdom values that He threw His all into exhibiting its expectations, thereby fulfilling its mandate upon His life. We should emulate Him on this!

As we pointed out yesterday, Jesus committed much time to teaching His disciples about the Kingdom and living its lifestyle through various teaching and parables. This is because claiming to be part of God’s kingdom is not in mere words but in living out its standard.

As you daily strive to showcase the kingdom lifestyle, the beauty of the life of Christ will pervade your inner life and flow outward for all to see. Living the kingdom lifestyle is portraying the life of God Himself in word and in deed. This is when your light is truly shining and illuminating the path for others to follow.

The kingdom lifestyle is rooted in a life of total humility, complete obedience, unquestionable submissiveness and absolute yieldedness to God and His will for your life in its entirety (Matthew 5-7).

Philippians 2:5 enjoins us to have the same mind as of Christ. In the same vein, today’s Fire Scripture calls us to be imitators of God and to walk in love just as Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour did (Ephesians 5:1-2).

It went on to admonish us to shun worldly principles and practices if we must be partakers of the glorious inheritance of this kingdom. We should walk in light, having been delivered from darkness and have nothing to do with the people and activity of darkness.

As a child of the kingdom, walk consistently in wisdom and obedience to the word of God as well as the dictates of the Holy Spirit. You will gradually become an epistle for others to read as your life mirrors Christ Jesus. Be different and be separated unto God in all you do. God shall be proud of you and heaven shall stand in ovation for you.

PRAYER POINTS:

MORNING

1. Spirit of compromise, I am not your candidate, depart from my life by fire, in the name of Jesus.

2. I refuse to conform to the standard and lifestyle of this world, by the power in the blood of Jesus, in the name of Jesus.

3. Grace and power to live above the evil of this world, come upon me now, in the name of Jesus.

EVENING

4. Fresh fire and power to burn and continue in the Lord, possess my life now, in the name of Jesus.

5. Arrows fired to weaken my spiritual life, backfire, in the name of Jesus.

6. Holy Ghost fire, overshadow my life afresh, in the name of Jesus.

7. My life, begin to radiate the glory of God, in the name of Jesus.

Beloved Reader, the best way to enjoy the best of God is to make Jesus Christ your personal Lord & Saviour.  And remember! John 3:3 says, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless ye are born again, ye cannot see the kingdom of God.”
