With only nine days into Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) organised 2025 World Consumer Rights Day, captains of the industry have expressed their readiness to speak in the event.
The umbrella body of practising journalists covering Brands, Public Relations, Marketing and Advertising, have already pencilled down 2025 World Consumer Rights Day where it hope to come out with solutions to the problems confronting consumers, especially at a period like this when the country is going through harsh economic crisis.
This year event, renowned sustainability expert, Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan has expressed willingness to speak as the keynote address person at the 2025 World Consumer Rights Day celebration.
The event is celebrated globally on March 15 to draw attention to the plight of consumers despite their rights.
Here in Nigeria, Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria (BJAN) has always been at the forefront to celebrate this as a way to remind consumers of their rights in spite of any economic situation.
BJAN has also been using the event to enlighten consumers on how they can deal with the challenges emanating from the unfriendly businesses that could arise amidst the hard economic downturn.
It is taking place in Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, from 10am on March 14, 2025, instead of March 15, since that day, 15 March, is a Saturday, and it is focusing on the theme, “A Just Transition to Sustainable Lifestyles.”
The theme is aimed at promoting sustainable lifestyles and raise awareness about consumer rights, hence the choice of Omobolanle Victor-Laniyan, who is also the CEO of Kratos Sustainability Consults.
Guest discussants for the event include, Victoria Uwadoka, Head, Corporate Communications and Sustainability Lead, Nestle Nigeria; Uwadoka, Bankole Oloruntoba, CEO, Climate Change Nigeria (CIC) among other sustainability experts.
Speaking about the event, Chairman, Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria, Daniel Obi, said, “We are excited to have these industry leaders share their expertise with us. Their insights will be invaluable in promoting sustainable lifestyles and protecting consumer rights.”
The event is open to the public, and BJAN invites all interested individuals to attend and be part of the conversation on sustainable development and consumer rights.
