The Lagos State Police Command
has confirmed that the abducted Fouani brothers and two others have been rescued. The spokesperson for the command, Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known on Tuesday, 18 June 2024.

The abducted brothers; Abbas Fouani, Youssef Fouani and Amtal Fouani, work for Fouani Nigeria Ltd which is the sole distributor of LG, Hisense and Maxi electronics products in Nigeria.

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the abduction had said command commenced investigation into the matter.

It was gathered that the kidnappers contacted the family of the victims to make demand for ransom or give condition for their release.

However, Benjamin Hundeyin, police spokesperson in the state, on Tuesday said the victims, including the boat driver and his assistant, were released Monday night in Orugbo Iddo.

He said the feat was achieved by the Lagos Marine police with support from the navy, adding that the victims had since been taken to their residence.

“They were rescued late last night in Orugbo Iddo. Our marine police with the support of the Nigerian Navy brought them to shore,” Hundeyin said.

“Thereafter, our tactical team in the area took them home on Banana Island in the early hours of today.

“Five of them, three Lebanese, the boat captain and his assistant.”

It would be recalled that suspected kidnappers abducted the three brothers around 6pm on Friday while coming from their factory by a boat.
