2022 May Day: ASCSN assures members,  pursuit of welfare, entitlements

The leadership of organised labour in civil service under the aegis of Association of Senior Civil Servants Nigeria (ASCSN) has charged Nigerian workers, especially under the payroll of Federal and state governments to remain steadfast in all their works.

The President, Comrade (Dr) Tommy Etim Okon in his 2020 May Day message, commended the workers for working towards uplifting of the union through
their unity.

Similarly, the union in statement signed by both the President, Dr Tommy Etim Okon with Secretary General, Alade Bashir Lawal, said “Today, as we join millions of workers throughout the world to celebrate the 2022 May Day.

“We wish to use this opportunity to commend the teeming members of our great union for remaining steadfast and united which enable the Association to always overcome organisational challenges whenever they arise.”

Moreover the duo stated that “We wish to assure you all that the current National Leadership of the Association is committed to the pursuit of welfare issues including the restoration of payment of gratuity to public service employees.”

In the same vein, Okon and Lawal said, “on behalf of the Central Working Committee and the National Executive Council, we wish you all a very pleasant May Day celebrations.”
