In apparent bid to fast track the obtaining of National Identification Number (NIN) programme, Federal Government has given Airtel the go-ahead for enrolment to register Nigerians in the ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) programme.
The approval was contained in a notice issued, by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
With this approval, Nigerians can now complete their NIN registration process at any accredited Airtel outlet nationwide.
It would be recalĺed that according to FG directive, the submission of NIN by subscribers to take place within two weeks from December 16, 2020 and end by 30 December, 2020.
Thereafter the network providers are mandated to block any line without NIN
In a statement issued by Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, Director, Public Affairs, NCC, the apex regulator and other sister agencies said they were implementing a framework to ensure compliance
